Schlumberger recognizes the importance of social and professional networking. In addition to providing former employees with their own selection of news and information about the company, we are keen to help them keep in contact with each other, find former friends and colleagues, as well as connect with current employees.

To provide an avenue for networking, a closed Schlumberger LinkedIn group that both alumni and employees can request to join has been set up on LinkedIn, the social media channel designed to help professionals keep in touch. The group is moderated by an alumnus, Claude Baudoin, who spent 26 years of his 35-year career in IT with Schlumberger. Claude is supported by a team of fellow moderators, some of whom are alumni and some employees, who answer queries and support the members of the group.

Claude Baudoin

Claude Baudoin spent 26 years at Schlumberger out of a 35-year career devoted to information technology, software engineering and knowledge management. He retired from the company in 2009 and is an independent consultant based in Austin, Texas. He followed his passion for collaboration and social networking when he created the Schlumberger group on LinkedIn in November 2007. The group’s success has exceeded his expectations.

When not consulting or managing this group, Claude enjoys classical literature, the performing arts, travel, food, photography, walking, and visiting friends around the world.
