Simon Farrant is vice president investor relations, a position he assumed in February 2014. Prior to his current role, he held various management positions including vice president and general manager for the United Kingdom, Ireland, Norway, Denmark, and The Netherlands; and previously, integration and transaction manager for the merger between Schlumberger and Smith International.
Earlier in his Schlumberger career, Farrant held a variety of positions in field operations, management, product development, and finance based in Egypt, Oman, Yemen, Thailand, France, and North America. He has since been responsible for corporate development activities for the artificial lift, drilling, completion, seismic, subsea and consulting services business lines. He joined Schlumberger in 1987 as a Wireline field engineer.
Farrant holds a Masters of Business Administration degree from Rice University, Houston (USA); a master’s in petroleum engineering from HeriotWatt University, United Kingdom; and a bachelor’s in geophysics from the University of Newscastle-upon-Tyne, United Kingdom. He is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and the National Investor Relations Institute.
