Highlighted Technologies

Real Openness—Leveraging the Ocean Development Framework

The Ocean application development framework is a foundation for innovation that provides flexibility and agility for today's challenges. The Ocean framework accelerates innovation. You no longer have to rely on monolithic releases of software—as innovation becomes available you can deploy it across your global enterprise.

A Powerful Combination-GeoFrame Enterprise-Scale Workflows and Petrel Integration

GeoFrame reservoir characterization software provides integrated, enterprise-scale seismic interpretation workflows. GeoViz software enables integrated 3D volume interpretation with advanced automated fault picking and enhanced horizon interpretation. New disk roaming and multiple survey capabilities enable geoscientists to easily work with very large seismic volumes. GeoFrame software also combines powerful prestack seismic workflows and seamless integration with geological interpretation. New direct data connectors to Petrel software carry the workflow even further: Large-scale seismic interpretation in Petrel 2009 software seamlessly bridges the workflow into reservoir modeling and simulation.

The Power of Q

Powered by Q, WesternGeco seismic-to-simulation technology and expertise allow you the freedom to deploy tailor-made solutions for your reservoir identification, exploration, development, and management projects.

WesternGeco has introduced three "Power of Q" solution packages.
  • ExplorationQ
A set of proprietary WesternGeco solutions to make exploration more effective and efficient, allowing our clients to explore with more confidence.
  • Complex IlluminationQ
A set of proprietary WesternGeco solutions for designing, acquiring, processing, and inverting full-azimuth data in complex geological areas such as salt, basalt, and deepwater, both offshore and onshore.
  • 4DQ
A set of proprietary WesternGeco solutions for designing, acquiring, processing, and inverting 4D seismic data at every stage of the oilfield life cycle.

DeepLook-EM Crosswell Resistivity Imaging

The DeepLook-EM enhanced crosswell electromagnetic (EM) system expands the scale of resistivity logging from the near-wellbore environment to reservoir monitoring. Formation resistivity can be directly measured between wells up to 1,000 m [3,280 ft] apart, depending on well and reservoir conditions. Decision making guided by DeepLook-EM interwell resistivity images avoids the errors introduced by interpolating single-well data, and it benefits from greater detail than seismic surveys can obtain. Case studies include examples of DeepLook-EM data used to monitor fluid fronts from water and steam injection, evaluate sweep efficiency, identify bypassed pay, and optimize reservoir simulation.
