Carbon Services—Site Decommissioning
At the end of active operations, when the CO2 supply finishes or the design capacity of the store is reached, the decommissioning phase begins. Legislation will demand a number of years monitoring of the storage site before certification that all the requirements for safe long-term stewardship of the site have been met. Approved technologies and procedures for well abandonment will ensure long-term isolation and CO2 storage integrity.
