Carbon Services—Site Design and Construction
We use proven technologies to design site-specific injection and monitoring systems for efficient, long-term CO2 storage.
Our while-drilling services improve drilling performance for better wellbore quality and stability. Using deep directional images, we can place injector wells in the best spot within the repository. We use formation pressure data acquired during drilling to update the geomechanical models, allowing the driller to avoid formation damage that can create leakage routes.
We've designed CO2-resistant cements for long-term hydraulic isolation during the injection phase and after decommissioning of the site.
Goals for all designs include
- enhanced safety and performance in all operations
- assurance that all delivered CO2 can be injected economically
- control of the CO2 containment, avoiding fracturing of caprock, reactivation of faults, and leakage
- effective monitoring of the environment (aquifer, surface, atmosphere) to confirm storage integrity.
