Water/Tailings Management
Schlumberger Water Services provides services to help mining operators effectively manage water. We develop overall water management plans to manage the different water sources and quality that many mines must deal with. The water management plan is integrated with dewatering, water supply, and water use components through development of an overall site water balance. Tailings facilities are often an important component of the overall mine water management system and Schlumberger Water Services has senior personnel with extensive experience in the design and operation of tailings facilities. The water management system also considers the mine’s regulatory and permitting requirements and issues related to sustainable development of resources. Services provided for mine water and tailings management include:
- Evaluation of water sources and quality
- Evaluation of mine water needs
- Development of site-wide water balance
- Tailings design and management
- Preparation of mine water management plan
- Pumps and infrastructure design for water usage
- Optimization of water usage
