The SpeedStar VSD is equipped with the UniConn and espWatcher components.
UniConn faceplate for a stand-alone monitoring applications.
Universal Site Controller
The UniConn provides a single interface and solution for all well-site control, data acquisition and data transmission interface for producing oil well and submersible pump application for surface pumping system. The UniConn is designed on a modular basis, incorporating an expansion card system to accommodate additional control/data acquisition while also providing a cost effective control/data acquisition solution for all applications. Interfacing to future-developed devices/monitoring systems simply requires development of expansion card, instead of development of new acquisition system. The gathering of all operational data in the UniConn greatly simplifies data gathering process to enable troubleshooting or well and equipment performance analysis to enable optimizing their performance.
The UniConn control algorithm is programmed specifically with oilfield producing application in mind, to support deployment of Electric Submersible Pump (ESP), bottom drive Progressive Cavity Pump (PCP), and Horizontal Pumping System (HPS) - with both fixed and variable speed drives. The UniConn is used with all Schlumberger drives - FixStar fixed-speed drive and SpeedStar variable speed drive, and provide surface interface for Schlumberger Phoenix monitoring system for all forms of artificial lift as well as the WellWatcher real-time reservoir and production monitoring system. Interface to multiple remote monitoring and control systems is supported - to both SCADA system and espWatcher service, to enable LiftPro optimization process.
The event logger in UniConn records all the alarms/trips that occur plus all the parameter changes; four layers of password protection is available to provide unintentional well shutdown due to accidental parameter change. Live data can be recorded using a removable memory module, with user-settable data channels to be logged and individual sampling rate for each channel to provide effective data monitoring. Windows-based StarView software provides a user-friendly and very effective method to configure the UniConn, and analyze operating condition - including analyzing the event logger, configuring and downloading logged data from the memory module.
