Control Valves
Control valves are mounted into the tool string to modify the flow behavior through the coiled tubing or allow for flow patterns required for specific operations. CoilTOOLS technology offers a variety of different flow control valve designs, from pressure- and flow-actuated circulation valves to differential valves and unloader valves.
Control valves can be operated automatically or manually. Since the performance of most flow control valves is dependant on the wellbore conditions, most flow control valves need to be adjusted prior to running into the well.
Either unloader or equalizing valves should be run above packers to enable equalization of the differential pressure across the packer element prior to packer release. These valves are typically tension- or compression-operated, depending on the type of packer used.
