Bandwidth-on-Demand (BoD) value-added service enables you to request additional bandwidth between any two locations during heavy demand periods. This flexibility allows your network to be utilized innovatively and cost effectively. For example, the added bandwidth can be used when you're moving high volumes of data between data centers.
Instead of explicitly allocating capacity during construction of the network, BoD enables network capacity to be increased on-demand and immediately reduced when the need has been addressed. This best suits applications with fluctuating bandwidth needs, such as multipoint video, overflow, and disaster recovery.
Flexible, cost-effective bandwidth
Now, you can buy additional bandwidth without a long-term contract. You can request a change in bandwidth allocation across any particular customer link—within the bounds of the physical circuit size—with a minimum usage period of two hours. Used in conjunction with Secure Data Access and Secure Private Network, BoD enables you to easily tailor and enhance your global network to suit the situation or requirement.
Multipurpose, value-added service
The Schlumberger Network Services Portal enables you to manage all elements of their BoD requirements electronically—scheduling, confirmations or cancellations, pricing, execution, and reporting.
