Anisotropic Modeling Provides Better Understanding of Gas Shale Reservoirs

Characterization and completion design of unconventional reservoirs
Tight rock analysis (TRA) provides a detailed core measurement of rock permeability, porosity, and fluid saturation in challenging tight gas shales and other unconventional reservoirs.

Reservoir productivity depends strongly on an assessment of heterogeneity, reservoir, and completion quality. TRA helps to maximize recovery through a better understanding and expanded knowledge of
  • vertical and lateral reservoir heterogeneity
  • reservoir quality, including reserve estimates
  • completion quality, including anisotropic rock modeling, fracture containment, and fracturability
  • rock-fluid sensitivity, including retention of fracture conductivity
