Operation Support Center (OSC) provides expert, efficient, remote management of drilling operations

Remote management of wellsite operations cuts costs, reduces risks
Advanced wellsite connectivity and remote control software enable Schlumberger Operation Support Center (OSC) personnel to remotely manage Schlumberger wellsite services. This remote management includes control of most operations for directional drilling (DD), measurement while drilling (MWD), and logging-while drilling (LWD). As a result, there are fewer personnel at the wellsite, which cuts transportation and accommodation costs and reduces health, safety, and environmental (HSE) risks.

More access to expertise
Remote management provides access to increased support and greater expertise than well-by-well support. All OSC personnel are expert in the latest Schlumberger DD, LWD, and MWD technology.

Easy startup
If the remote operation management service is to be run over your network infrastructure, it requires
  • signing an IT access agreement and putting IT support in place
  • discussing with your wellsite IT support staff your decision to run the service and its benefits
  • providing Schlumberger with IT contact details for progress reports.
Schlumberger can also provide a real-time connectivity solution that is independent of your network infrastructure.

Minimum requirements
The minimum requirements for remote operations management are
  • dedicated phone line
  • dedicated 256 kb/s bandwidth
  • dedicated static internet protocol (IP) address
  • remote access permission from your wellsite IT staff if your network infrastructure will be used
  • ties to wellsite telecommunications systems beneficial to remote support.
