Typical inflow performance rate (IPR) curves showing low (A) and high (B) productivity. The IPR curve for an oil well flowing below the bubblepoint (C) results from changes in relative permeability created by variation in the saturation distributions. FloWatcher monitors provide real-time IPR relationships for optimized production and reservoir management.
Highly accurate FloWatcher data allow conducting pressure transient analysis and model verification for all types of reservoirs.
Integrated permanent production monitor for real-time downhole data
The FloWatcher permanent downhole production monitor provides continuous measurements of pressure, temperature, flow rate and fluid density. Two high-precision quartz pressure gauges in gauge mandrels measure the pressure drop across a venturi, which is directly proportional to the square of the fluid velocity. A third high-precision quartz pressure gauge in the FloWatcher monitor measures fluid density. These two measurements are used to compute the flow rate and water holdup. The FloWatcher Sapphire was designed and engineered to address reliability problems resulting from vibration, ESP power line cross-talk and motor heat dissipation.
The venturi can be either an integral part of the gauge mandrels or slickline retrievable.
The real-time pressure, flow rate, water holdup and temperature data provided by a FloWatcher monitor can be used for production and reservoir modeling, optimization and problem diagnosis.
Typical FloWatcher applications are
production allocation
well productivity and trend analysis
interference testing
pressure transient analysis
material balance
monitoring the efficiency of electrical submersible pumps (ESPs)
problem diagnosis.
FloWatcher monitors provide precise, reliable pressure, flow rate, water holdup and density data in real time and flexible formatting to meet your data requirements.
