A Collaborative Response to Complex Problems
More work and greater complexity—fewer people and less time. Such are the dictates of a business environment that drives oil and gas companies to aggressively search for better ways to work. Ambitious drilling trajectories, complex geology, tight drilling schedules and other technical complexities make collaboration essential for the operator to
  • improve job design
  • increase efficiency
  • reduce operational costs
  • increase safety.
Around the world and around the clock, oilfield specialists are capitalizing on advanced communication and visualization technology to monitor, supervise, and evaluate critical wellsite operations. Now they can carry out these important functions from a central location, without having to travel to remote wellsites—or even leaving their office building.

This article describes the technology and capabilities of iCenter collaborative environments. We demonstrate iCenter applications through a case study from a well drilled in the Gulf of Mexico.
