The Seabed database is supported on commercial off-the-shelf database technology (SQL Server and Oracle) and can scale from single-user to multi-user deployments with large data sets. The technology includes database services aimed at reducing the cost of development of scalable, collaborative, transaction-oriented applications that leverage a shared persistence of E&P and application data.
The data model is comprehensive, clearly documented and ready-to-run out of the box. This unified and robust data model can enable workflow that span across exploration, engineering, development, production, economics, and other upstream O&G domains. Additionally, the database technology is flexible and allows the data model to be extended as required to meet the business demands and workflow practices of the upstream O&G industry. The data model is geared to provide direct, immediate data sharing and efficient lossless data transfers and is an integral part of an integrated E&P environment yielding breakthrough results. To allow further collaboration with the industry, the standard Seabed data model is published as an open specification. This openness allows greater accessibility to share information with affiliates, partners, and agencies.
