Integrated model approach achieves unparalleled results in shale gas recovery.

Organically rich gas shale reservoirs, once ignored by operators seeking easier plays and faster returns on investments, are boosting US natural gas reserves. According to the US Energy Information Administration in 2007, 3.6 x 1012 m3 of shale gas are technically recoverable from these reservoirs. The challenge is to release it from rock as impermeable as concrete.

Solutions to increase shale gas recovery
When the energy source is unconventional, so are our solutions. Schlumberger has developed new technologies and new applications of proven technologies to increase resource recovery over the long term.

We offer unparalleled experience in locating, quantifying, and modeling these unconventional reservoirs and in optimizing the approach to their development.
