Source designature and removal of receiver positioning errors enhance results of subsequent workflows

A vital step in any seismic data processing workflow is eliminating variations in the seismic wavelet caused by irregularities in acquisition geometry and other aspects of acquisition. Many processing steps rely on assumptions of regular geometry, while confidence in many amplitude-dependent processes (such as AVO and inversion) requires stability and control of the wavelet characteristics.
