New family of CT services enables on-the-fly adjustments for optimized reservoir treatments

Efficiently stimulating carbonate reservoirs in Western Canada is challenging because of reservoir heterogeneity and variable natural fractures intersecting the wellbore. Surface measurements alone are not sufficient to make good decisions for full production potential. The Schlumberger ACTive family of coiled tubing services, which allows for in-well live downhole measurements, helped improve production in this area by 25 to 30%. With these services, operators were given a high rate of data transfer, with data collected downhole transmitted in real time to the surface, allowing for more confident decisions to be made at the right time.
