Schlumberger introduced two new tools used in the stimulation process. The new SPARK stimulation technology delivery platform is able to work with third-party services to leverage high-pressure pumping equipment. The platform includes the HiWAY flow-channel hydraulic fracturing service to create infinite fracture conductivity for hydrocarbon flow, as well as the OpenFRAC family fluid additive systems and the ClearFRAC polymer-free fracturing fluid for greater fracturing efficiency with less reservoir damage when compared to conventional systems. The new Mangrove reservoir-centric stimulation design software enables custom staging and perforation designs to be engineered beyond a geometrical approach. This enhances stimulation coverage, flow rates, and ROI. Developed on the Petrel E&P software platform, the technology allows users to access a shared earth model, which facilitates the process of completion designs.
