Industry Article: 4D seismic in a heavy-oil, turbidite reservoir offshore Brazil

This article, by authors from Petrobras, describes a deepwater 4D project over the Marlim field offshore Brazil which was acquired and processed by WesternGeco. The 4D imaging enabled Petrobras to detect the movement of oil, gas, and water through the reservoir. It improved static and dynamic modeling and provided more confidence to predict future reservoir behavior, thus reducing risk in new drilling projects. It also helped locate bypassed reserves and optimize placement of infill wells.
