Tech Report: Resistivity Images Captured While Drilling 100% in Zone Clearly Define Natural Fracture Clusters

Imaging while drilling enables optimization of completion design around natural fractures in target reservoir to enhance production

While drilling resistivity images capture and define fracture clusters.

Publication Date: 01/21/2014

Endeavor Energy Resources had encountered high breakdown pressures during completions. Postprocessing of images acquired while drilling enabled identification of natural fracture clusters in the reservoir as the cause. Real-time imaging while drilling from MicroScope service provided data to guide geosteering. The resistivity images were used in the completion stage to help identify natural fracture clusters that had caused issues in previous wells.
