The focus of Schlumberger-Doll Research (SDR) is to combine scientific excellence with technical innovation to create Schlumberger products and services. With an increased emphasis on accessing external scientific innovation, SDR strongly values collaboration with universities and other scientific institutions. The SDR facilities were moved in 2006 from Ridgefield, Connecticut, to Cambridge, Massachusetts, a key hub of technological innovation in the USA, to take advantage of greater proximity to academic and other institutions working at the forefront of science and technology.
