Overview Interpretation

Gamma ray tools are the standard device for the correlation of logs in cased and open holes. Used in triple- and quad-combo toolstrings, they are effective in any environment and provide the gamma ray log portion of the minimum information required for basic formation evaluation answers, such as porosity and saturations. Spectral gamma ray tools also provide insight into the mineral composition of formations for the three most common components of naturally occurring radiation in sands and shales—potassium, thorium, and uranium.

This basic insight is readily expanded by combining triple- and quad-combo data with additional measurements. Integrated interpretation employs advanced workflows, the multidisciplinary expertise of our interpretation geoscientists and engineers working with you as needed, and software such as the Techlog wellbore software platform to maximize the value of your logging data. The result is the fullest possible understanding of complex lithologies, such as carbonate, shaly sand, and shale reservoirs.
