Fullbore ID for high-volume flow with reduced velocity

Increased demand for natural gas, and consequently large-bore completions, led Schlumberger to develop tubing-retrievable safety valves equipped with patented curved flapper systems. These valves enable larger tubing to be installed in a given casing size compared with conventional flapper designs, providing high-volume flow capability with reduced flow velocity.

Advanced metallurgy and innovative design techniques provide fully optimized geometry, high corrosion resistance, and the ability to withstand slam closure during high-flow conditions. Multiple profiles and materials for conventional spring-type and gas-spring valves are available for use in shallow to deepset and normal to high-temperature applications.  We provide valves for production tubing sizes ranging from 4 1/2 in to 7 in and working pressures from 5,000 psi to 20,000 psi.

Testing beyond industry standards for maximum reliability under extreme conditions

Operational testing of subsurface safety valves under flowing conditions is known as gas-slam testing. Slam-closure testing beyond industry standards ensures that the valve will slam closed multiple times under extreme conditions, while maintaining reliable operation and sealing.
