Trajectory Control in Directional Drilling

Directional drilling is the science of deviating a wellbore along a planned path to a target located a given lateral distance and direction from vertical. This includes drilling as vertically as possible from a given TVD.

Our expert directional drillers and proven technologies provide the trajectory control needed to drill the well correctly, the high-quality hole required to successfully run and cement casing, and the precise well placement to optimize production and maximize recovery. Our LWD and MWD services provide high-quality data to enable time-critical decisions for accurate drilling of extended-reach, horizontal, vertical, and complex directional wells and sidetracks.

Through the merger with Smith Services, PathFinder has joined Schlumberger and is now the Schlumberger directional drilling service provider in high-volume environments, such as North America land-based operations. PathFinder has access to the full resources of Schlumberger and employs fit-for-purpose technologies, including the PowerDrive rotary steerable systems, Neyrfor Turbodrills, and PathFinder mud motors.
