The PowerDrive Archer high build rate rotary steerable system (RSS) delivers well profiles—previously only possible with motors in complex 3D wells—yet with the ROP and wellbore quality of an RSS. This fully rotating system is the only RSS that builds high angles from any deviation—in one run without requiring a trip out of the hole—for increased hydrocarbon production potential and reduced risk.
The PowerDrive Archer RSS is available for hole sizes from 5 7/8 to 8 3/4 in.

Landing in the reservoir earlier for increased exposure
Accurate and precise control enables the PowerDrive Archer RSS to land the well trajectory in the reservoir’s sweet spot and even extend the horizontal to TD. With higher build rate capability, it kicks off deeper and maintains verticality at greater depths. In horizontal sections, the system can drill through hard, interbedded formations at high angles of incidence.
Easing completions with smooth and consistent drilling
By drilling smoother wellbores, the PowerDrive Archer RSS can extend the distance to which horizontal sections are drilled as well as make it easier to run casing and intelligent completions. High-quality wellbores produced by the high build rate RSS offer reduced friction and tortuosity, which allows good weight transfer to the bit for increased ROP.
