More weight on bit for faster drilling speeds
The fully rotating PowerDrive vorteX powered rotary steerable system (RSS) provides additional torque and more revolutions per minute, translating to higher weight on bit to improve drilling performance. Depending on drilling conditions, this RSS can be run with other PowerDrive RSS front ends for maximum rpm, resulting in longer runs.
Reduced rig time through optimized performance
An integrated power section rapidly rotates the bit and optionally permits slowing of drillstring rotation. By reducing stick/slip, the PowerDrive vorteX RSS reduces risk of damage to the BHA and the risk of casing wear and drillstring fatigue in sections with high dogleg severity. Its rotation helps clean and condition the hole, lowering the risk of differential or mechanical sticking.
Downhole control in challenging environments
Using the high-torque RSS improves drilling performance and downhole control even in hard formations. The system is capable of operating in downhole temperatures as high as 150 degC [302 degF]. Automatic downhole control makes it possible to drill a hold section at a higher ROP and with greater accuracy than a conventional-control setup operated from the surface.
Powered RSS with real-time wireless communication of near-bit information for any geosteering or navigational challenge.
