Optimal Rotating Control Device

Integrated Sealed-Bearing RCD

The high-pressure Optimal RCD features a compact profile and an integrated sealed bearing assembly. Integrating the sealing element with the bearing assembly forms a single unit that allows quicker sealing element installation and removal. Dual sealing element assemblies are available to enhance RCD sealing capability and extend replacement time.

In most drilling conditions, the Optimal RCD bearing assembly can operate as a sealed unit to eliminate the need for external cooling and lubrication equipment, and it reduces the system footprint, an important consideration on small locations. For high operating temperatures, a hydraulic cooling unit can be provided to circulate chilled lubricating oil through the bearing assembly.

Compact profile for easier installation on rigs

The compact profile of the Optimal RCDs allows them to be passed through standard rotary tables, making installation easier on rigs with limited stack height space. Cast ductile body designs meet API performance specifications and are rated for hazardous H2S operations.

Four side outlets are available with the high-pressure Optimal RCD, two 7 1/16-in mud return lines and one 4 1/16-in and one 2 1/16-in flow line.

Features

  • Sealed-bearing option available
  • Installation through the rotary tables
  • Compact profile: 40 in to 45 in
