Creation of an Institute for Education and Development
Education & Development – Monday 9th February, 2009
Geoservices, oilfield services company, world leader in Mud Logging, announces the creation of the Geoservices Institute for Education and Development on the 12th January this year.
Created on the initiative of Philippe Salle*, Chief Executive Officer of the Geoservices Group, the Geoservices Institute has the objective of sponsoring educational, humanitarian, sanitary and social activities, or training, and to promote sustainable development in the world.
The Geoservices Institute notably intends to finance and to seek financing to support educational activities through national or local associations, to finance student scholarships and participate in humanitarian, sanitary and social efforts to support populations in difficulty.
According to Philippe Salle; "for a group such as Geoservices, established all over the world, the creation of this institute is a wonderful opportunity to have another perspective on the populations we work alongside. We cannot content ourselves with just being citizens of our country of residence when we work on 5 continents. The Geoservices Institute will allow us to contribute, in our modest way, to educational anddevelopment programmes worldwide”.
The Geoservices Institute for Education and Development is administered by:
the President: Philippe Salle*, also Chief Executive Officer of the Geoservices Group,
the Managing Director: Frédéric Fougerat, also Communications Director of Geoservices,
the Financial Manager: Franck Thibault, also HR Development Director of Geoservices.
(*) Philippe Salle, who is also an administrator of the ‘Club Entreprises et Handicap’, already had the initiative to create the Vedior Institute for equal opportunities in 2005, when he chaired Vedior Group, France. This institute for social sponsorship, created to promote ethnic and cultural diversity in companies and equal opportunities in the access to jobs, financed numerous study grants for deserving young people throughout France. It also financed associations working for professional social integration and the actions of citizens in the fields of employee diversity or physical disability.
