Community Involvement

At M-I SWACO, we believe that being a responsible corporate citizen means being a conscientious and responsive member of the many communities in which we operate.

From year-round fund-raising activities that benefit Juvenile Diabetes and Cystic Fibrosis foundations, to remodeling schools and providing supplies and equipment in some of the world’s poorest regions, to constructing teaching laboratories and nature walks, to helping communities rebuild after natural disasters, M-I SWACO people live that philosophy every day.

Our global, corporate social responsibility initiative falls under the auspices of our MUNDO INTEGRAL* program, which loosely translates to “united [or whole] world.” As the foundation and single source for all M-I SWACO corporate community-service programs worldwide, MUNDO INTEGRAL strengthens our commitment to give back to the many locales where we operate. The program acts as an umbrella over a variety of sponsored activities, primarily involving children, cultural exchange and improving living conditions for local residents.

Through MUNDO INTEGRAL, M-I SWACO works closely with a host of civic organizations worldwide, including the Association for Children and Their Environment (ANIA) where the company has been instrumental in developing the global Children’s Land program, designed to teach environmental awareness at an early age. At each Children’s Land, children learn about their world, are intimately involved in caring for it, and create a sustainable environment for themselves and their own children in the future.
