Safe, effective and permanent neutralization of hazardous hydrogen sulfide gas

M-I SWACO Purification Solutions technology consists of two primary product groups for removing hydrogen sulfide from gas and light liquid hydrocarbon streams. These are SULFATREAT absorbent, a blend of iron oxides and the SELECT absorbent series that is based on mixed metal oxides.

Both technologies utilize fixed-bed technology. While SULFATREAT absorbent requires the gas stream to be water saturated, SELECT absorbent will work in both dry and wet gas applications.

SULFATREAT Hydrogen Sulfide treatment

SULFATREAT absorbent is a mixture of non-hazardous granular products based on proprietary iron oxide chemistry and is engineered for the removal of hydrogen sulfide (H2S) from gas streams. During the adsorption process, water saturated gas or vapor flows downward through the SULFATREAT absorbent bed. Hydrogen sulfide chemically reacts with the SULFATREAT absorbent to form a stable and safe byproduct. Product consumption is dependent only on the amount of hydrogen sulfide that actually passes through the bed.

This economically matches the need for hydrogen sulfide removal with variations in system flow conditions and outlet specifications regardless of the total volume or other common components of the gas. Proper installation requires an inlet separator to remove free liquids from the gas upstream of the SULFATREAT absorbent containment vessel. Equipment may also include a water injection system to saturate the inlet gas. SULFATREAT absorbent products are also suitable for the treatment of light liquid hydrocarbons. The most appropriate product is selected for an application based on the process conditions and the operational requirements.

SELECT Hydrogen Sulfide treatment

SELECT engineered mixed metal oxides adsorbents are effective in dry gas and water- saturated gas streams. They are among the highest capacity desulfurization products available in the market today.
