M-I SWACO patented THULE composite screen frames combine durability, light weight and longer life into a cost-effective alternative to metal frames. Our patented THULE composite screen frames combine three different screen meshes to provide new levels of efficiency, flexibility and cost-effectiveness.
The THULE composite screen frame consists of a grid made from a composite of high-strength plastic and glass, reinforced with high-tensile-strength steel rods. Because these frames balance durability with strength, they are more efficient transport mechanisms than any steel frames. THULE screen frames have higher throughput capacities and significantly longer operational lives. Since THULE frames will not rust or delaminate, they can be used, stored and re-used.
Model for model, THULE frames weigh less than all-steel frames. And they have an increased open area, providing a higher conductance rate. When compared to metal-frame screens, THULE screens have 16 to 27 percent more open area than comparable metal-frame screens.
THULE Screen Frames deliver a host of advantages over metal frame screens, including:
- Longer frame life translates into longer overall screen life
- Higher throughput rates further reduce operating costs by optimizing shaker performance
- A choice of mesh styles ensures flexibility for drilling a range of formations
- TBC mesh delivers a well-defined separation efficiency
- TRSF mesh overcomes the blinding problems associated with sandstone
- XR three-layer mesh configuration maintains separation efficiency while reducing the effects of inter-cloth abrasion and resists blinding
- Larger-diameter wire gives XR screens the longest life in the industry today
