Schlumberger can recommend, design, and provide a fit-for-purpose, high-quality downhole system for both reciprocating and progressing cavity pump (PCP) wells.

A number of criteria are analyzed when designing the optimal downhole system:

  • vertical or deviated wellbore
  • drilling survey if deviated
  • seating nipple depth and perforation location
  • tubing size and tubing anchor depth
  • production requirements
  • fluid viscosity, water cut, and corrosive environment
  • existing pumping unit if applicable
  • torque requirements if PCP application.

The following downhole equipment is considered in determining the solution for your application:

  • sucker rods—API sucker rods, high-strength sucker rods, specialized PCP sucker rods, proprietary sucker rods, fiberglass sucker rods
  • rod guides—standard, proprietary, and dual-system guides
  • sinker bars and stabilizer bars for centralizing, load management, handling deviated wells
  • downhole pumps—API downhole pumps; specialty pumps for severe applications, such as sanding, gas interference, high-viscosity oil
  • gas separators—packer and “Mother Hubbard” style, J55 and L80 materials.
