Wellsite Connectivity for Cementing Operations
InterACTconnectivity, collaboration, and information system reduces operational, travel, and personnel costs with real-time, secure, cementing data directly from the job site to the desktop. Using a standard Web browser and a simple Internet or intranet connection, the system connects your experts securely anywhere in the world during the job.
The system, when used with CemCAT cementing computer-aided treatment or CemCADE cementing design and evaluation software, makes cementing data available on an embedded graphical and numeric display. Real-time messages from the wellsite acquisition console can be transmitted, and automated postjob reports can be generated.
Files produced in all standard data types and formats, including daily reports, well programs, laboratory tests, sample data, graphics, can be exchanged during the operation. This exchange lets everyone working on the job, regardless of location, remotely monitor and supervise cementing operations in real time. You have the secure data you need to make effective decisions and optimize well treatments.
Real-time operational decisions
A critical well kill operation was performed in the Gulf of Mexico at a water depth of 6,000 ft and a well depth of 20,000 ft. Real-time cementing data from the Schlumberger cement unit on the drillship were transmitted using the InterACT system.
The data were compared with past casing tests and formation integrity tests to determine the wellbore condition as the job progressed. The data also were used to make real-time decisions on the volume, rate, and pressure for the next stage of the bullhead operation.
Before the rig had even bled off the pressure, the onsite and offsite project teams had the results. They used the data to make immediate decisions for the next part of the operation, and they had a preliminary status report for the well.
