WriteOn
Bring functionality back to the interpreter
Just a few years ago, interpreters created seismic interpretations with colored pencils on papers sections. Hand-written notes were often made on the paper sections while working and discussing a project. Today seismic interpretation is done almost exclusively on a workstation; as a result the ability to use annotations to communicate has been lost.
Paul Spencer an interpretation advisor in Norsk Hydro sees WriteOn as "...an effective media for communicating exploration concepts graphically within Charisma Imain. The ability to turn-off and switch between layers allows several "storyboards" to be constructed as the interpreter gets his message across during a meeting. The integration of URL facilities allows immediate access to online reports, graphics, well summaries and external journals, thus increasing the content and impact of any presentation or technical work meeting."
WriteOn stratigraphic annotation tool works with Charisma 3D seismic interpretation software to allow you to communicate through words and pictures to enhance the interpretation of your data. Annotation is stored with the data and registered in x, y, z space for maximum benefit. WriteOn was jointly developed with Norsk Hydro to bring this communication functionality back to the interpreter.
Annotate while you interpret
WriteOn allows the registration of stratigraphic events and other observations on seismic sections and maps. This enables effective communication of interpretation concepts to peers and managers. Annotations are stored as a series of layers. With WriteOn you can
- post text, lines, arrows, polygons and color fills
- post symbols, bitmaps and URL buttons to link your Charisma interpretation to your web page
- project annotations from one seismic line to another to assist with your interpretation
- view annotations drawn on the seismic canvas in the map window to allow better understanding of spatial relationships
- post annotations and retain the correct position as you flatten on events
- switch individual layers on or off as desired to facilitate rapid realization of multiple scenarios.
