In August 2010 Coil Tubing Services (CTS) joined Schlumberger through the merger with Smith International. CTS is the largest coiled tubing (CT) company on the Louisiana and Texas Gulf coast. In addition, services are offered in various other parts of the United States, including Alaska, and Canada. Operations are conducted offshore, in inland waters, and on land.
Going forward, the Schlumberger North America CT services organization will be combined with CTS under the name Coil Tubing Services, with access to the full resources of Schlumberger. The commitment remains unchanged—to provide the best-in-class CT services, with every job receiving full attention and the best possible equipment and crew.
Use CT to clean out boreholes and perform acid stimulation, reverse circulation, cementing, pressure control, and a variety of other operations that involve pumping a fluid—water- or oil-based—into the well.
Inject nitrogen through CT to displace fluids from the borehole, and potentially dangerous gases from pipelines and pressure vessels, as well as to conduct pressure/leak tests.
Complete wells with the wide range of tools that can be run on CT, enabling services such as plug setting, sand control, gravel packing, fishing, milling and drillout of plugs, toe preparation in horizontal and shale wells, borehole cleaning, logging, and perforating. Horizontal wells and shale completions are a growing area of operations.
Run any CT service on deepwater installations.
Use any CT service in high-pressure environments.
