Integrated Source Controller

The integrated source controller (ISC) manages explosive and vibroseis acquisition for the UniQ system. The ISC is designed to support all current and anticipated vibrator techniques, including modern simultaneous techniques such as aggressive slip-sweep, HFVS and C-HFVS, and BP's ISS and DSSS.

Vibrator timing is GPS based and accurate to +/-1us. Combined with digital pilot signals this means that the traditional recording truck encoder is no longer required and the UniQ system can operate an unlimited number of single or multi-vibrator source groups. Each vibrator unit also features an on-board atomic clock for use in the event of loss of GPS signal.

Vibrator signature information can be transmitted back to the recording truck after every sweep by means of a wireless connection* to the UniQ ground electronics. Once received by the recording system, the signatures are merged with the corresponding raw sensor measurements and are ready for use in data processing.
