WesternGeco has field tested and refined many specialized energy sources, receivers, and recording systems to solve the problems presented by TZ regions. Ocean-bottom cable with hydrophone/geophone receivers, specialized GPS surveying techniques, radio frequency telemetry systems, 24-bit digital recording, multichannel recording systems, and air-gun, vibrator, and explosive energy sources are among the tools used to acquire seismic data in TZ areas.
