Multizonal selective injection system
Enhance waterflood sweep efficiency, and hence oil recovery, by compensating for reservoir injectivity variations along the wellbore.
ICD Advisor inflow control device planning software supports completion designs aimed at recovery optimization through the use of inflow control devices (ICDs). It is implemented as a plug-in for the Petrel E&P software platform and uses the ECLIPSE industry-reference reservoir simulator to predict the dynamic well response for a given ICD completion design.
Several workflows are available for using existing reservoir models and LWD logs in a fit-for-purpose approach to reservoir description around the wellbore. A customized set of output plots is available to efficiently evaluate multiple completion scenarios.
The software provides the following recommendations for achieving a balanced flow rate or drawdown:
Solve uneven injection, poor sweep efficiency, and the watering of producers caused by short-circuiting with injectors.
Revisiting a sand group with a 4-m oil column and strong bottom water drive.
ICD Advisor software is an internal Schlumberger software package for designing and optimizing inflow control device (ICD) completions through reservoir segmentation, packer positioning, and nozzle sizing.
Inorganic scales are a significant production issue with extensive inorganic scales observed in many Brazilian offshore fields and is also a worldwide phenomenon resulting in considerable productivity impairment.
First application of Inflow Control Devices (ICDs) completion is implemented in long openhole section with an average permeability of 3,000 mD sandstone-reservoir in offshore Khafji field. This work illustrates the best evaluation to design and to select the process for using ICD in long openhole section of 1,900 ft.
