M-I SWACO supports an extensive fleet of rotating control devices (RCDs) for use in a variety of applications, including annular fluid containment and pressure management in onshore and offshore drilling environments. Across the M-I SWACO RCD portfolio, each system is compatible with both rotary drives and top drives and features seals made of natural rubber, nitrile, butyl, or urethane.
The below-tension-ring rotating control device (BTR RCD) is an 18 3/4-in submersible rotating control device that is submersed below the tension ring. It has an 18 3/4-in clear passthrough. The proven redundant and reliable design allows the @balance Speed sealed rotating system to land and be locked in place through a piston mechanism. Its single-trip deployment system does not require a wear sleeve. It is compatible with any riser system, API 16 RCD monogrammed, and NACE compliant.
The above-tension-ring rotating control device (ATR RCD) is an 18 3/4-in surface rotating control device that can be used for land, jackup, and platform rigs, as well as above-tension-ring floater applications. It has an 18 3/4-in clear passthrough. Its proven redundant and reliable design allows the @balance Speed sealed rotating system to land and be locked in place through a pistons mechanism. It is a single-trip deployment system that does not require a wear sleeve.
The RCD 3 rotating control device system is a passive sealing system that offers improved safety in diverting well returns to a surface separation system during managed pressure and underbalanced drilling applications. The RCD 3 system offers one of the most compact sealed-bearing-assembly designs in the industry. It is manufactured to NACE standards and is easily installed through most rotary tables without removing the master bushings. The HOLD remotely operated annular control device is the industry’s first RCD to include a remotely operated clamping system for improved safety in wellbore fluids containment applications. The hydraulically operated lockdown mechanism for the sealing element can be operated by the driller from a control console on the drill floor. The console keeps the clamp locked down and prevents it from opening in the presence of wellbore pressure.
