Overview
The Caldon Ultrasonic Technology Center is located near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. The centerpiece of this facility is the Caldon™ hydrocarbon flow laboratory, which sets SLB apart from other ultrasonic meter suppliers.
200 Series Caldon LEFM ultrasonic liquid flowmeters are calibrated in this laboratory, using up to three oils to create a Reynolds number range that corresponds to the range that the meter will encounter in the field. This process ensures that once the meter is installed and operating, its performance will be unaffected by changes in flow rate and liquid viscosity. The ability to calibrate in-house virtually eliminates the need for using third-party facilities, dramatically reducing delivery cycles.
