RockEye
Automated high-resolution photography
RockEye automated high-resolution photography provides a catalog of every sample in plane light and UV excitation. The archived images are much easier to manage compared with the samples themselves. They also enable geologists to look at the rocks at their desks without relying on sample descriptions.
Purpose
- High-resolution visible and UV excitation images
- Visual record of the exact sample that was analyzed via FIS fluid inclusion stratigraphy analysis, PDQ-XRF automated X-ray fluorescence elemental analysis, or both
- Transportable and resilient: sample may be depleted, but the images remain
Applications
- Visualizes the lithology change with actual texture and color of the rock sample
- Enables oil-show detection through UV excitation photos
- Complements geochemical analyses, geological formation change, and lithology change
