Brazil Equatorial Margin Multiclient Seismic Surveys

WesternGeco, in a joint venture with TGS, has more than 40,000 km of prestack depth migration (isotropic and TTI anisotropic) 2D data available in Brazil’s equatorial margin covering the Potiguar, Ceará, Barreirinhas, and Pará-Maranhão Basins.

Also available in this area is the Potiguar 3D survey, which encompasses 2,780 km2. The processing included 3D GSMP general surface multiple prediction and 3D anisotropic VTI Kirchhoff prestack depth migration.

Surveys available

  • 2D surveys (in cooperation with TGS-NOPEC Geophysical Company)
    • Isotropic Kirchhoff PSDM
    • Anisotropic Kirchhoff PSDM
  • Potiguar 3D PSTM and PSDM

Key highlights: 2D surveys

  • Full 2D coverage over most of the basins in the equatorial margin
  • 2D surface related multiple elimination (SRME)
  • New 2D TTI anisotropic Kirchhoff depth migration

Key highlights: 3D surveys

  • Processing completed in 2012
  • 3D GSMP prediction technology
  • 3D Kirchhoff PSTM
  • 3D anisotropic Kirchhoff PSDM and adaptive beam migration (ABM)
