The vector high-fidelity (VHF) signal enhancement technique improves the natural bandwidth of the seismic survey by simultaneously optimizing the amplitude and frequency content. The result is better temporal resolution, reduced noise, and extended usable bandwidth.
The noise reduction technique models and enhances buried signals within a noisy, lower-frequency 3D volume. The process assumes that within a seismic volume, wavelet response deviations are either caused by noise or are valid geologic perturbations.
Improves resolution for structural interpretation and signal conditioning
The amplitude- and phase-preserving characteristics of the VHF technique improve resolution for structural interpretation and signal conditioning for both prestack and poststack seismic inversion. This additional structural detail is beneficial during the extraction of seismic attributes such as variance for edge detection to expose unobserved reservoir characteristics.
