New technology variable speed drives extend electrical submersible pump life while cutting operational costs

 

The Schlumberger SpeedStar 18-pulse low-voltage sine-wave-drive VSD is designed to reflect minimal harmonics back to the power system and to protect and control electric submersible pump systems and surface pumping systems. The VSD is designed for 380/460-V, 50/60- Hz input power. The drive complies with IEEE Recommended Practices and Requirements 519-1992 Harmonic Control in Electrical Power Systems by use of 18-pulse phase cancellation and a patented integral autotransformer.
