Background
On a Gulf of Mexico (GOM) project, the operator wanted to mill a long, full-gauge window in one trip, drill 85 ft of rathole to run a rotary steerable system and other drilling assemblies, and create an optimum window profile to run a tight-tolerance liner. The TrackMaster Select system, run with the FasTrack one-trip mill, delivered a long, full-gauge window while reducing dogleg severity to run the liner and cement in a single trip. The high-quality window minimized bending stresses and enabled trouble-free reentry for subsequent drilling assemblies.
