Devon Energy faced the possibility of unwanted water in some of its Barnett Shale wells. Using StimMAP Live real-time microseismic fracture monitoring, together with fiber diverters, engineers were able to guide fractures away from the water-bearing limestone into previously untreated volumes of the reservoir. The result was a 400% improvement in production over the initial completion, and payout was achieved in about 60 days.
