Tech Report: Accuracy-Verified Water Salinity Measurement and First Water Detection in Multiphase Flow

Rigorous testing of the AquaWatcher Surface water salinity sensor in various flow regimes proves repeatable, highly accurate metrological performance

The AquaWatcher Surface water salinity sensor was tested for robustness and the accuracy and repeatability of its water conductivity measurement (NaCl-equivalent salinity determination) and water volume fraction (WVF) detection at three wet gas and multiphase flow facilities.

The more than 300 flow loop test points acquired in a wide variety of flow regimes confirm excellent metrological performance and repeatability over a wide range of gas volume fractions (GVFs) up to 99.95% and within the operating range of the water/liquid ratio (WLR).

Even in challenging high-GVF wet gas flows, the AquaWatcher Surface sensor performed flawlessly, delivering water volume fraction (WVF) detection at levels less than 100 ppm.
