Cement-through subsurface safety valves were designed to respond to the need for a conventional safety valve that can remain fully operational after flowing cement slurry or fracturing fluids through it during the completion process. These surface-controlled valves use the innovative, nonelastomeric rod piston hydraulic actuation system developed by Schlumberger; full metal-to-metal body connections; and rugged, field-proven flapper closure systems. They offer an economically viable method of completing wells for tubingless or cemented monobore completions. 

The tubing-retrievable valves are specifically designed with exclusion features and use primarily standard spring-type mechanisms. They are intended for depths less than 3,000 ft, production tubing sizes ranging from 2 7/8 in to 3 1/2 in, and working pressures from 5,000 psi to 10,000 psi.
