SlimTech reduced-OD, tubing-retrievable, surface-controlled safety valves provide exceptional versatility and reliability using a compact design that incorporates field-proven Schlumberger technologies. They are suitable for working pressures up to 10,000 psi [68,950 kPa].

Extreme reliability through design

The valves use a single rod piston with reliable, spring-energized, filled Teflon sealing elements; a static, full-closed, metal-to-metal seal; and a static, full-open seal and centralizing system. For maximum reliability, every SlimTech valve has only two body joints and uses proprietary threads to achieve a reliable, metal-to-metal seal. A patented system dramatically simplifies secondary communication.

Curved-flapper mechanism for optimal OD and high-rate closure

For optimal valve OD, the SlimTech valve features the unique premium curved-flapper mechanism with full metal-to-metal sealing and a secondary soft seat. The robust flapper mechanism is designed to withstand the extreme forces experienced during high-rate closure; it has been tested to close at rates up to 450 MMcf/d at a low flowing pressure of 600 psi. The flapper system is manufactured with a leakage acceptance criteria 50 times better than the standard API and ISO specifications. An optional, erosion-resistant flapper-mounted system equalizes pressure across the flapper.

Higher-flow-rate option

The SlimTech high-flow valve is the higher-flow-rate version of the SlimTech valve and has been tested to close at rates up to 505-MMcf/d at a flowing pressure of 600 psi. It uses a nonequalizing flapper system and has a working pressure rating up to 10,000 psi [69 MPa]. In all other respects, it is similar to the standard SlimTech valve.
