NATCO SHV Combustor Internal-Burner Emission Control System

Achieve >99.9% destruction efficiency for all volatile organic compounds (VOCs)

The NATCO SHV Combustor internal-burner emission control system meets the increasing demand for higher destruction efficiency of volatile organic emissions. Currently operating flare systems typically have destruction efficiencies only up to 98%. The NATCO SHV Combustor system uses a low flame and a wide-open external combustor area to achieve significantly higher combustion efficiencies. With increasingly stringent environmental regulations, this system is the ideal solution because it burns off all the emissions.

The system is designed primarily to control off-gases from glycol dehydration facilities, but it can be applied to any oil and gas processing facility that needs increased control of vapor emissions.

  • System achieves >99.9% destruction efficiency for all volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
  • Patented internal-burner venturi design requires less fuel gas, provides greater VOC combustion (destruction) efficiency, and delivers a reduced glycol reflux column backpressure, reducing opex.
  • External superheater (stack heat exchanger) reduces liquid accumulation and disposal, improves clean burn and water vaporization, and can operate in cold weather without freezing, reducing opex.
  • Natural draft design has no blowers, reducing utilities and both capex and opex.
  • Insulating air flow does not require a refractory, needs less maintenance, and reduces both capex and opex.
  • Adjustable air dampers increase operability and operating range and eliminate the need for blowers, improving both capex and opex.
